THE Denbeath Amateur Boxing Club is once again showing it leads the way in producing the best young boxing talent.

Two local boxers have recently returned from the Scottish Novice Championships, held at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh, where they came back with gold medals to the local club.

First to fight on the recent bill was the club’s 14-year-old 48kg startlet, Nathan Levers.

The teenager outboxed his opponent, Jake Mulroy of East Lothian ABC, in the final of their weight category, with the local lad taking the victory, which was never in doubt, with a convincing 12 points to four victory.

The next fighter to reach his final, in the 54kg category, was 15-year-old Owen Kinninmonth, who was boxing against Luke Franklin of Peterhead ABC.

Luke produced a devastating performance and forced a first round stoppage.
