SWALLOWS started their league campaign with a fighting 1-1 draw against recently-demoted Lomond Vics.
After 10 minutes, the home side took the lead from a close-range header by Young after a beautiful cross from Bissett.
Vics fought back and had good chances which were thwarted by superb goalkeeping from Segarius.
The interval arrived with the Swallows holding on to their slender lead. With the wind behind them, Vics pinned Swallows back but their defence stood firm.
On a breakaway, Jardine could have increased the margin to two but weakly chipped into the keepers hands from six yards.
The same player rattled the cross bar from 25 yards before Ireland shot narrowly past from a good position. This was to prove costly, as Vics equalised with 12 minutes to go when a cross from the left was glanced home by a striker.
In the last minute, the visitors could have clinched the points when, from close in, their forward headed past.
Nonetheless, it was a good point for Swallows, who had a severely depleted squad available for the game.
Match day sponsor was Andrew Needham, heating and plumbing engineer.
