The spring meeting of the Glenrothes Amateur Swimming Club at the Fife Institute pool was the brought to an end a forty year relationship with the centre.
It was the last time that club members were able to take the plunge in the swimming pool before the facility is closed ahead of the brand new replacement sports facility expected later this year.
The group, which has over a hundred members, spanning all age groups will now pack away the swimming trunks an costumes for the summer before taking up residence in the new Michael Woods Centre.
Treasurer, Elaine Boothe told the Gazette: “It’s an emotional moment for all our members, past and present as we’ve had many happy times at the ‘Old Inst.’
“But I’m sure the new facilities will be fantastic and worth the wait.”
