Glenrothes Cricket Club are delighted to announce that Fraser Gosse has joined the club from Kinross-shire ahead of the new season.
Fraser was first selected for Scotland at U15 level where he made several impressive performances before going on to earn further international recognition at U17 level.
Following a good start with both bat and ball he then suffered the misfortune of missing almost the entire 2013 season through injury.
He’s been training well throughout the winter with Scotland, Caledonia Academy and Glenrothes – and has now decided to play his cricket with the Gilvenbank Park outfit.
Upon confirming the switch, Fraser stated: “Last year, a friend at Glenrothes, who knew I was thinking about a different club experience, suggested I consider joining him at GCC.
“I was invited to attend indoor training where I was made to feel very welcome.
“The coaching was very organised, instructive and inclusive; I really enjoyed the sessions.
“Now, decision made, I am grateful to Kinross-shire for the past six years or so of club cricket, and for supporting me through area, regional and national levels. I now look forward to being part of GCC at an exciting time of change.”
Club captain Chris Greaves added: “Fraser has undoubted potential as a genuine all-rounder and has really looked the part in all of the training sessions he’s attended at the club.
“His application and determination to succeed with his cricket stand out very clearly and we’re very much looking forward to his debut season at GCC.
“Fraser has already started to fit right in at the club and it’s certainly helped that he played as a junior with GCC regulars Daniel Graveling and Nick Diston.
“Additionally he has played a number of matches with two of our other newbies for 2014 – at regional level with Scott Lucas and internationally with Ben Wilkinson.”
