Glenrothes win by 8 wickets: Marchmont v Glenrothes 1st XI.

Skipper I. Dale lost the toss and Glenrothes were asked to field in perfect conditions.

Wickets started to fall at regular intervals, batsmen getting frustrated with the pressure being put on them by the tight bowling from all the bowlers used.

Special mention must go to veteran all rounder Steve Rowley (pictured) for getting a five wicket haul, Marchmont eventually being bowled out for a total of 101.

Glenrothes innings started in a positive manner with both opening batsmen keeping the score board ticking over and had reached 54 runs before the first wicket fell with S. Rowley being stumped for a fine knock of 25.

The score moved on to 60 when the next wicket fell, that of Greig Hopcroft, for again a fine knock of 30.

This brought Chris Greaves and Guy Robinson, the latter looking to score his first runs for his new club, both batsmen steadily building a partnership that would see Glenrothes to a 8 wicket victory.

Glenrothes 2nd XI: 147-9 v 148-7 Muirfield DAFS 4th XI (GCC won by 3 wickets). A tight game won in a sunny Riverside Park. Notable mentions for Ross Mearns (3-29) and a fine 33 for Capt Ally Sim
