AFTER last week’s poor second-half performance, Glenrothes made a positive start to Saturday’s league match, having the bulk of the possession, but failing to convert it into clear cut opportunities.
On 24 minutes Ballingry Rovers went ahead against the run off play, and while Glens continued to enjoy long periods of pressure they couldn’t find an equaliser before the break.
Two minutes into the second-half, Glens were awarded a free kick conceded at the edge of the box, but the resulting shot went over the crossbar.
As the half continued, Glens continued to enjoy the lion’s share of the play, but with little to show for it except another effort put just over the bar, and after that Rovers were content to defend the lead and held out for the victory.
