The Fife Probus Golfing Association celebrated its 25th Anniversary by holding a Texas Scramble competition at Thornton Golf Club last Monday.

Sixty-six lady and gents golfers from 17 of the 20 registered Probus Club members participated in set teams of three or four beginning with a shotgun start at 9.30 a.m.

The winners were A.Aitken (Cupar), G.H.Taylor (Dalgety Bay), R.Marshall (Kirkcaldy) and R.Fraser (Adam Smith Ladies).

The runners-up were S.Cruikshank (St Andrews), G.Brown (North of Fife) and R.Stark (Howe of Fife) while third place went to A.Jones (Kinross), H.Smith (East Neuk), W.Templeton (Kirkcaldy) and E.Paterson (Glenrothes Ladies).

The celebratory event was concluded with a lunch in the clubhouse attended by the players, honorary guests and members of the F.P.G.A Executive Committee.

F.P.G.A. captain Bryan Paterson of Dunfermline Probus Club presented the prizes.
