East Fife Tri-Club members were amongst the number as Fife AC held the third event in their midweek series at Hill of Tarvit, with a 5.3 mile trail race.

There were some great results with Adrian Wood finishing in 42.46, Craig Trewartha in 43.47, Fiona Lothian in 46.56, Gwen Tivendale in 48.34 and Jane Askey in 1.12.35.

The Black Rock 5 mile beach race was held with great participation from club members.

Finishing times as follows: Adrian Wood - 31:20, Craig Trewartha - 32:52, Tricia Wallace - 40:36 and Heidi Orr - 1:16:43.

Last weekend was busy for members with lots of major events including Montrose triathlon, Strathclyde Park triathlon festival and Stirling triathlons.

At Stirling, Tricia Wallace completed her first Sprint Tri in 1:38:36.

Adrian Wood saw more improvements to his time, completing in 1.22.58, and Jess Bucket, one of our youth members competed in Tristar 3 coming sixth overall in 29:36.

At Strathclyde some of the club’s youngest and oldest members achieved podium spots.

Jane Askey came first in her category once again and Anna Hedley placing second in her first open water triathlon.

Robert Sparks once again raced well, finishing fourth in his race.

JF Geyer swam the Tay in a non wetsuit event, but didn’t feel that was enough, so also ran on West Sands on Sunday, which was the scene of the Chariots of Fire beach race.

Also running there were Tracey Mcfee, Marianne Berghuis, Chris Wallard and Heidi Orr.

Rising Star Ruby Methven also claimed the first prize for the girls in the children’s race!

At Montrose, memberMarcus Taylor had an excellent race, and despite some moments of bad luck and a niggling injury, managed a fourth place finish (second in category), finishing only moments after the bronze position in 1:09:48.
