CAWDER’S Jamie Savage held his nerve to win the East of Scotland Championship on the SGU Men’s Order of Merit at the third extra hole.
The 18-year-old won his first Men’s 72-hole event after defeating Aberdour’s Scott Crichton in extra time at Lundin.
The pair, both members of the SGU Men’s Transitional Squad, had finished locked on one-over-par.
“It feels pretty good,” said Jamie, who won at the third playing of the 18th.
“I’m playing well right now, so I’ve just got to keep it going.
“I just had to stick to the game plan today and be patient.
“Then, thankfully, I hit a good shot in and holed a 12-footer for birdie on the third extra hole.”
The Duke’s’ Scott Stewart-Cation, the overnight leader with Adam Dunton, came third on three-over, with the hopes of Dunton (McDonald) undone by a final round 77, dropping him to sixth place.
Lundin’s James White finished the competition in a share of tenth place with another local interest, Leven Thistle’s Mark Anderson, back in 13th.
