TWO Largo teenagers had good reason to jump for joy after picking up silver medals at a Scottish Gymnastics trampoline competition.
Rosie McCarroll (13), of Upper Largo, and Samantha Stewart (15), of Newburn, both members of Fife’s Flyers Trampoline Club, were second in the over-15s level one category of the national Synchro competition - a worthy achievement, considering it was their first time jumping as a pair in a synchronised event and they only had a few weeks to train.
The club also won gold in the under-15s class and bronze in the over-15s.
“We were delighted at Rosie and Samantha’s success, especially as they’d had such a short time to prepare,” said head coach Ann Milne.
It is shaping up to be a good year for the club, which has a squad of 11 and trains at Fife Institute, Glenrothes.
“We already have three members qualified for the individual events in the Scottish National finals and fully expect another four to win places over the next couple of months,” said Ann.
Another member, Grant Milne, will be competing in the British National finals in Birmingham in July.
