Rosyth Wanderers...........1

SATURDAY’S fixture saw Denbeath play host to Rosyth Wanderers in a Fife First Division league match.

The game started slowly with neither team creating much and it took 20 minutes for the breakthrough to eventually come the way of the visitors.

The Rosyth number nine taking his chance to pounce after Denbeath failed to clear.

The game was to turn shortly before the break, though, when Armmit ran on to a great through-ball from O’Sullivan only to be bundled over in the box.

The referee awarded a penalty to Denbeath and also issued a straight red card for the Rosyth ‘keeper following a foul mouthed rant at the official over the decision.

Lee Harley took the kick and didn’t let his team mates down as he made the score 1-1.

The second half saw Denbeath really begin to control the game with their man advantage taking its toll on the visitors.

The winner came when a rebounded shot landed at the feet of James Coventry who was quick to pounce and blasted past the stand-in Rosyth goalkeeper.

There was a late scare for Denbeath though, when Rosyth had the ball in the net from a set piece.

However the goal was chalked off and flagged for offside.

Saturday’s match ball was sponsored by Strikeforce Security.
