DALGETY Bay hosted league rivals Kennoway in the quarter-finals of the Fosters Fife Cup.

Kennoway immediately looked to assert themselves on the match and the opening goal came quickly, courtesy of Jamie Armitt.

However, Dalgety Bay fought back and pushed through on goal and put the ball beyond the reach of the Kennoway ‘keeper to make it 1-1 at half-time.

The visitors were awarded a corner kick in the second half, which was duly delivered into the box with pace and ricocheted off a Dalgety Bay defender to fall at the feet of Paul MacBride, who took the opportunity to put the visitors back into the lead.

The referee then flashed a red card at a Dalgety Bay player as tempers began to flare, before they went on to miss a penalty.

The visitors started to press the advantage and Jamie Armitt netted his second of the day and Kennoway’s third of the match.

Martyn Thomson was on hand to add the fourth goal of the day for Kennoway, before another Bay player was ordered off, along with Kennoway’s Mark Cramb.
