THE Jim Adams Challenge Trophy, played twice per year between the Tower Bar and the East Dock Bar, was recently won by the golfers from the East Dock.
The tournament is played in memory of keen golfer Mr Adams, a well-known face in both bars as well a social committee member at the Tower Bar, who died in November 2009.
Set up by East Dock Bar proprietor Marshall Coleman, the most recent match was played at Scoonie earlier this month and East Dock defeated the Tower Bar 5-4 to take home the trophy.
A total of 34 players turned out for the tie, four more than those who played in the inaugural match, which was won by the Tower Bar in September 2011.
Afterwards Mr Adams’ widow Myra Adams, along with her family, thanked all who took part, including the golfers from both pubs, Marshall Coleman for his generous contribution and proprietor Stephen Roy for the celebration food later in the Tower Bar.
