CRAIL junior athlete Logan Rees celebrated double weekend success, winning the Scottish Junior Hill Running title before placing second overall, and first junior, at the Anster Haddies Charity 5km race.
Logan claimed the under-16 Scottish title at Ben Lomond, covering the 2.25 mile course in 19 minutes 31 seconds, 15 seconds clear of Jacob Adkin (Moorfoot) with Luke Foss (Gala) taking third in 19.49.
There was a title also for Ana Brocklebank of Crail, who won the under-14s girls’ title, timed at 15 minutes 41 seconds for the two-mile route.
In a good weeeknd for the Rees family, Tristan Rees finished third in the under-14 boys’ championship (12.59) with Ryan Brocklebank fourth (14.18).
Rounding off the day, George Rees won the non-championship under-12 race, timed at 14 minutes 08 seconds for the 1.5 mile course, well clear of runner-up Liam Clark (Gala) in 15.32.
Logan was back in action 24 hours later at Anster Haddies Charity 5km multi-terrain race on Sunday.
Battling against the winds, David Pugh led from start to finish, clocking 18 minutes 25 seconds, with Logan closing to within 14 seconds over the final mile to finish runner-up/first junior.
Lucy Duff won the battle for female honours in 24 minutes, shading St Andrews over-40 veteran Gwen Tivendale by four seconds.

Bill Smith was the leading Fife runner at last week’s Dundee Botanical Gardens Race, held over a rain-soaked testing 5km course.

The Fife AC Track and Field Championships take place this Saturday, May 19 at the St Andrews University track, starting at 2pm.
With registration at 1.30pm, events are begn held for all ages, giving members the opportunity to try out something different in low key competition.
All age groups will have 100m, 800m, high jump, long jump and shot putt, although under-11s will not have the high jump.
There will also be an open mile race for both men and women.
The second race in the Beveridge Park 5km series is on Friday, May 25 starting at 7.30pm.
All entries on the night outside Kirkcaldy Rugby HQ in the park.
