Leslie rider Lucy Alexander was seen at her power packed best as she rode Sa Suffit to victory in the feature race of the day at Sedgefield on Sunday.

Leader Shadrak held a two length lead over Sa Suffit at the final fence in the two-mile four-furlong Handicap
Chase.

As they landed Lucy went to work on the James Ewart trained 12-year-old and in a driving finish she forced her mount into the lead in the shadow of the winning post to prevail by half a length at rewarding odds of 12/1.

At last Friday’s rearranged Ayr meeting Lucy’s father, trainer Nick, sent out four runners.

Clan Chief and Another Mattie both blundered away their chances by unseating whilst still travelling well.

The Orange Rogue came third on only his second start over fences and he should improve for a step up in trip while Northern Acres finished strongly to grab second on the line under a strong drive from Lucy.
