Roy Houston brought the curtain down on his Scottish Superbike Championship season in an action-packed weekend at Knockhill.
Riding the Kirkcaldy Kawasaki ZX10, Roy started the weekend in a good position, sitting second in the championship, knowing that all he had to do was make it through the weekend to confirm his place.
It proved to be a mixed weekend for Roy, with a crash during qualifying on Saturday requiring the bike to be repaired in order get it race ready, but Roy was determined to show why he had achieved such great results this season.
He went out on track all guns blazing and achieved the results he needed to secure his runner-up position in the championship in only his second season in the Superbike class.
“Saturday wasn’t my favorite day of racing this season to say the least – but that’s racing!” Roy said. “Apart from that, the weather was great and the officials were outstanding as always.
“After the crash on Saturday I lost my quick shifter. It was fair to say I did not like not having it but got on with it.
“I am very happy with achieving second place in the championship this season and thanks to all the sponsors from this season - Kirkcaldy Kawasaki, Blackbird Corporate, Heather Neilson, John Haggart - and of course my family and friends.”
Roy and the team from Kirkcaldy Kawasaki are now working on what they will be doing for the 2014 season.
