ON Saturday, Bayside travelled to Methilhill to take on the Strollers in the Premier League.
Both sides started well and the Strollers should have taken the lead on 10 minutes when Paul Jenson ran down the left and cut back for James Good to shoot wide.
Next it was Phil Russell’s turn to fire a shot on goal, with the local player making the Bayside ‘keeper pull off a good save.
From the resulting corner, Bayside broke and scored to make it 1-0.
Just before the break, Ross Wilson gathered the ball in his own half and ran down the left wing, cuttting in on his right and shooting from 25 yards in to the top corner, making the score 1-1 at half time.
In the second half, both sides could have taken the lead.
Sub Ryan Mckluskey played a through ball for Craig Seath to cross for Phil Russell to power home a header to make it 2-1 to the Strollers.
With 10 minutes to go, Bayside had a goal bound shot saved by Darren Mathewson off the post and Ryan Mathieson cleared the rebound to safety.
The Strollers held on for a much-deserved three points to start climbing the table.
