Strong opponents prove too much

Largo’s cricketers suffered a heavy loss to visitors Dundee High School FPs.

Fielding a team of players from across the club’s three league teams Largo captain Nicky Rintoul was somewhat perplexed when the Former Pupils arrived with effectively a firstXI squad.

Batting first the FPs racked up a score of 239 for 8 from their 35 overs.

Chasing such a big total was never on against a decent Dundee attack and Largo found themselves all out for 89. Man of the match for Largo was Ian Brown with 40 not out.

Sunday’s match was called-off due to Rossie Priory not being able raise a team so Largo’s pre-season warm-up has not gone as planned. The season starts on Saturday with the firsts at home to Edinburgh South at East Drive.
