ST MONANS got off to a poor start and found themselves two goals down after 10 minutes.
Firstly, they gave away possession just outside their penalty box and, when the ball fell to the striker, he hit a left-foot shot into the corner.
Minutes later, a Queensferry midfielder beat the offside trap and tucked the ball past a despairing Segarius in goal.
With 20 minutes gone, St Monans got back in the game when Davie Ireland cut inside two defenders and, from 20 yards, placed a shot home.
This spurred on Queensferry and, following another defensive error, they made it 3-1 after 25 minutes.
Still the home side did not give up and, after 40 minutes, the ball fell to McGilvary, who placed the ball into the net. The scoring was not finished in the first half and, with the referee looking at his watch, a cross from the bye-line was hammered into the net from close range.
The second turned into a bit of an anti-climax and, although the home side pressed, they didn’t create much.
With St Monans pushing forward, the away team punished them again, getting to the bye-line and crossing for the striker to finish.
