Two Glenrothes boxers were in action at the Scottish Youth Championships, held at Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Stadium.

Fighting at 64kg, James Dickie, who boxes out of Kirkcaldy’s Kingdom club, comfortably defeated Craigmillar’s James Bruce in the quarter-final.

He then disposed of Mark Parvin, Cambusnethan, the current Scottish and British champion, who he was runner-up to last year.

The 12-7 points victory was his first in four attempts over an opponent who he first faced when he was 12 years-old.

Dickie will fight Glasgow’s Gary McGuire fin the final later this month.

Club team-mate Brandon Singh, boxing at 56kg, lost his semi-final to Dennistoun’s Craig McIntyre, his Scotland international squad colleague, 13-11.
