IN recognition of his achievements over many years, a short and poignant ceremony was held recently at East Fife Indoor Bowling Club, in honour of the late Willie Wyles.
The lounge at Methil was renamed the Willie Wyles Lounge, in memory of the well-known and respected local player, who passed away in December.
Club president Bill Dempsey spoke of Willie’s accomplishments, while Willie’s elder daughter, Maureen, replied and thanked the club for its memorial to her father.
The renaming of the lounge was much appreciated by all his family.
Meanwhile, back on the playing green, the final of the Henderson Trophy saw Neil Smith, Willie Little, Rab Allan and Ian Moir lead throughout to defeat Jim Haldane, Bob Wyse, Dave Watson and Roy White by seven shots.
The Moir four was five shots ahead with one end remaining and added a two to win 21-14.
