Nominees for the 2015 Perth & Kinross Sports Awards have been announced.

The awards are promoted and supported by Perth & Kinross Council, Live Active Leisure and Perth & Kinross Sports Council.

They recognise the talent of local sports personalities, with last year’s award going to British amateur champion golfer, Bradley Neil.

At this year’s event, being held on Friday 11 March 2016 at the Dewars’ Centre in Perth, Commonwealth Gold Medallist Boxer Charlie Flynn will be the guest speaker.

Awards will be presented in 12 categories and and young people will also receive their Saltire Awards for completing more than 200 hours’ volunteering in sport in the area.

Amongst those nominated are our local athletes Eilidh Child and Laura Muir in the Live Active Leisure Sports Person of the Year Award category and Atholl Pettinger (equestrian vaulting) in the Alison Wilson Junior Male Sports Person of the Year group.
