EAST Neuk Wobblers have taken part in the final round of the AMCA Scottish Motorcycle Championships 2011, at Drumcarrow Craig
Nearly 50 riders enjoyed a very close competition in the adult and youth categories. Several results had to be resolved by some quick counting up of the full year’s results by the secretary. In a tie, the riders with the most observed sections with zero marks dropped is the winner.
Paul Anderson from Leven had a nervous day waiting on Cupar man Greame Walker finishing, as his third place gave Anderson the outright win over fourth-place Kevin White, who dropped an early five.
Kennoway’s Roger Summers secured a tie with David Anderson of Colinsburgh, which gave Summers the overall win on most cleans.
Star man Alan Mercer’s equal second gave him third in the Championship.
John Bailey came back after a break to take the Youth A out from under the noses of Lorenzo Valentine and Craig Horne, whose second and third placings were also decided by most cleans.
It was no surprise as Connor Smith of Pittenweem won the Youth B(A Route). Leven lad Jamie Duffus’ low score on the day wasn’t enough to stop Colinsburgh’s Gordon Peebles from taking third in the Youth B(B Route). See results in Sports Classified on page 37.
