LEGENDARY Fife Flyer Harold ‘Pep’ Young celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary.
The Montreal-born player, who joined Fife Flyers in 1950, married three times Scottish figure skating champion Sheena Balfour shortly after arriving in Kirkcaldy and the couple are now celebrating 60 years of marriage.
He said: “I met Sheena, now 79, on the ice at Kirkcaldy Ice Rink and immediately asked her to dance. We got married soon after and have been happty ever since.”
Pep, who is pictured second from the left in the above picture during his Flyers days, spent 30 years playing and coaching the Flyers, giving up as coach in 1971 but continuing to help with the juniors until 1980.
The couple have three children and four grandchildren and now live in Fairmilehead in Edinburgh.
Pep (84), said: “We moved over to Edinburgh in 1990 when our daughter had her first child, so we could help with the babysitting, and we are still here.”
