St Andrews United’s season may have ended, but off the field preparations for next season are well in hand.
During the last week Saints agreed new deals with Kevin McMullan and Jamie Mackie.
Both players are St Andrews based and were major figures in the side that secured promotion.
McMullan has played 119 games for United scoring four times,
Mackie has scored 12 times in 88 games.
The pieces are beginning to fit in to place as far as the club’s pre-season campaign is concerned.
Phil McGuire’s squad travel to Brechin Vics on Saturday, July 18.
This will be followed by a midweek fixture before the annual tournament on Saturday 25 and 26 of July.
So far confirmed to play are amateur sides Greig Park Rangers and St Monans Swallows.
Wednesday, July 29 sees United entertain Concordia College from Minnesota who are on tour in the area before completing their programme at home on August 1 against an opposition yet to be announced.
United will take to the field next season resplendent in Adidas kit supplied directly from the factory in Germany.
The club has been able to use contacts built up by manager Phil McGuire during his playing career and Adidas will be supplying all the clothing worn by the side for the next two seasons from training gear to tracksuits in something of a coup for the club.
In addition to the Adidas deal, the club will also be supplied direct by Powerade who become hydration drinks supplier.
McGuire said: “Since I became manager at the club I have always said that just because we are in a semi-pro league that doesn’t mean we cant be professional on and off the park.
“Football is one of those sports that benefits from keeping your hydration at its optimum levels to help performance so I was more than happy to do a deal with Powerade”
