Race three of the Trailbusters Series was held in a very wet and muddy Balbirnie Park in Markinch last Sunday.

The event proved popular with racers from across the Kingdom heading to the Fife venue to compete.

Ten Leven Las Vegas runners took part in the event with Chris Russell finishing in third place overall and Collette Ives winning her age category for all three races overall.

Despite the downpours on the last two Saturdays, LLV runners came up with some excellent performances at both the St Andrews and Kirkcaldy parkruns.

Becky Oakenfull, Bryan McLaren, Robin Pate and Dougie Clews all setting personal bests.

The annual Cupar 5 road race took place on Saturday on a five-mile out and back course on the north side of Cupar.

Again, the event is a popular one amongst Fife’s athletes, with a large entry list.

Five LLV took part: Andy Cargill (30m34s), Bryan McLaren (31m 24s), Robin Pate (34m31s) and Davie Hogg (40m 39s).

The one race that avoided rainfall of any kind was the ‘Smokies 10’, a women’s only race held on the roads around Arbroath, this year in glorious sunshine on Sunday.

Three LLV, Becky Oakenfull, Lorna Hughes and Tricia Wallace, made the trip north to take part in this popular annual event.
