Among several milestone achievements in 2015, Gauldry’s Shaun Simpson has notched the remarkable feat of finishing the eight round Maxxis British Championship undefeated.

The 27 year old won two of three motos at the FatCat circuit in Doncaster to put the lid on a tremendous national campaign.

Prior to the event he had already confirmed his second title in a row at the penultimate fixture at Preston Docks in September.

Around the English sand Shaun went 2-1-1 on his Hitachi Construction Machinery Revo KTM 450SX-F and was back on 2015 machinery after enjoying factory backed support for the last two months of the season.

It was a tricky meeting for ‘24’ who lost the backing of father and mechanic Willie as Simpson Snr remained in hospital in Belgium with a hand infection.

Relying on technical help from several key friends Shaun came through the day well; only a poor start in the first race of the day saw him run out of time to pass Kristian Whatley.

The other starts saw the Belgian and Dutch GP winner back in control.

“It was a hectic week with having to prepare the old bikes and dad needing to go into hospital,” he said.

“Luckily I had some help at FatCat from Jason and we got the job done.

“In the third moto I actually went around on the last lap and felt proud of what we have managed this season.

“We won GPs, took fourth in the world, had a great time at Unadilla but to go the whole British Championship undefeated in each round in overall wins – and all from the back of a sprinter van – was really nice.

“Just one more week now, Weston and then home.”

From a total of 23 motos Shaun won 20 and his worst result was second place, which he registered three times.

Shaun will recuperate and start preparations to defend his Weston Beach race title next weekend.
