Twelve communities in the East Neuk are now looking into the possibilities of sustainable energy projects that could land them an annual cash windfall.
A feasibility study, paid for by Community Energy Scotland (CES), is due to be carried out shortly to determine which of the various green energy schemes could operate in each area.
Last year, the Citizen reported that community councils in Crail, Pittenweem and St Monan's were exploring the possibilities of teaming up with CES.
And they have now been joined by Anstruther and District, Colinsburgh and Kilconquhar, Largo Area, Cameron, Arncroach and Carnbee, Boarhills and Dunino, Largoward and District, Elie and Kingsbarns.
They are all at different stages in the development process but all have at least expressed an interest in the green energy project.
