GREYFRIARS Primary School achieved a tremendous result in the Scottish Rotary Clubs' Grand Final of the Primary School Quiz, held at the West Park Conference Centre in Dundee.
After a very exciting and well supported competition against 14 other school teams from all over northern Scotland, answering questions on many different topics, Greyfriars emerged as very close runners-up to eventual winners Cults Primary School, from Aberdeen.

Greyfriars reached this stage after first winning the St Andrews area heats and then qualifying from the Fife and Dundee zone finals to compete in the Grand Final.

They won £300 for their school to be spent on educational equipment of their choice.

The team members were Ted Davila, Natalie Cameron, Susie Clements, Harry Turner and reserve Freja Connell.

They were extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and represented the school with great credit.

A spokesman for St Andrews and Kilrymont Rotary Clubs said: ''We were very pleased to help organise and support the quiz and were delighted that a team from the area went so far and achieved such success.

''We look forward to next year's competition and the opportunity to then perhaps go one place better!''
