ANSTRUTHER Fisheries Museum will be extending its creative links to the local community next spring.

The museum was granted just over £10,000 by Iconic Artists in Iconic Places project, run by Museums Galleries Scotland and Creative Scotland.

The funding will see the museum temporarily re-site objects from its collection to nearby houses and streets with historical links to the men and women of the fishing industry.

Documentary photographer Sean Dooley and filmmaker Tim Fitzpatrick will use the museum’s photographic collection to create connections between past and present day inhabitants.

Simon Hayhow, museum director, said: “Everyone is excited at the chance to invite local people in to discover and research our collections, and to curate a display in their own homes with a giant illuminated image in the window.

“On a dark, cold winter night, they can welcome visitors to explore this illuminated trail in a string of unique exhibition experiences through the historic streets of Anstruther and Cellardyke, with a few surprises along the way.”
