POPULAR music festival T in the Park which is held annually at Balado near Kinross has won the title ‘Festival of the Year’.
The festival won the accoladate at the Music Week Awards in London, beating off competition from from Glastonbury, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Rockness and Creamfields.
As well as being the fans’ favourite festival, T in the Park is officially the Music Industry’s favourite UK festival, as voted for by music industry experts worldwide via Musicweek.com.
Geoff Ellis, the festival’s founder, said: “It’s great to be recognised by the music industry - it’s a real testament to the hard work of a fantastic team and the passion of the T in the Park festival goers. We’re now looking forward to this year’s festival more than ever - roll on July.”
T in the Park boasts multiple stages crammed with acts from across the globe and organisers have pulled out all the stops to pull in the biggest names in pop, rock, urban and dance to create a diverse bill that is being widely cited by fans and industry alike as the worldwide festival bill to beat this summer.
Headliners Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters will be joined by superstars including The Strokes, Beyoncé, Pulp and Tom Jones plus the best new music acts including Tinie Tempah, Plan B and Jessie J to play across the weekend of 8 to 10 July.
