Foodies across Fife are in for a treat this weekend as Kirkcaldy’s annual Food and Drink Fair makes a return.

The Kingdom is home to hundreds of outstanding producers, suppliers, restaurants and foodie entrepreneurs, some of whom will be sharing their culinary skills and ideas with the public in the atrium at Fife College.

Free to attend it will feature chef demonstrations, food and drink stalls and kids’ cooking workshops.

Brought to the town by Kirkcaldy 4 All and Fife College, the fun starts at 11am with a full programme of cooking demonstrations from well-known chefs, including Fife’s own TV chef Eadie Manson and BBC’s MasterChef The Professionals 2014 winner, Jamie Scott.

Tom Pratt, chef from The Waterfront restaurant in Kirkcaldy, will also be cooking up a storm, and for fun, hands-on workshops, children can decorate cupcakes or make healthy pizzas.

There is ample opportunity for feasting and shopping on the day with twenty local food and drink producers at the indoor ‘market’, showcasing and selling their products – ranging from jams, chutneys, cakes and chocolate, to pork, veal and tasty ales and vodka.

Bill Harvey, manager of Kirkcaldy 4 All, the town’s Business Improvement District, said: “It’s an exciting weekend in Kirkcaldy with the Adam Smith Festival of Ideas celebrating the globally-renowned 18th century economist and philosopher.

“The Food and Drink Fair is just one part of a great programme of events this weekend and gives visitors the opportunity to come and hear all the latest thinking in the culinary world.”

Bryan McCabe of Fife College said: “This is a fantastic example of local Fife businesses working together to showcase their produce and welcome both old and new customers to the town.
