Renowned Fife artist, Jack Vettriano, has given the use of one of his paintings to support a fundraiser to buy hotel breaks and treats for NHS workers and carers.
‘Mr Cool’ will be used on the vouchers sent out to frontline workers who have played such a key role in battling the coronavirus pandemic.
The Crowdfunding campaign is being run by Care4Carers to pay for much-deserved breaks for NHS staff and carers once the crisis is over.
Members of the public are being invited to donate online to buy the vouchers which will feature the artist’s work.
Vettriano - whose retrospective exhibition planned to launch in Kirkcaldy in September has been delayed until 2021 - said: “At times like these we all need to do what we can to help those who help us.

“Care4Carers does just that - harnessing the power of hospitality and kindness to do something great. I’m delighted to be involved with this campaign and hope the donations keep flooding in so we can treat as many NHS workers and carers as possible.”
Care4Carers was set up by Original Collection hotels, which is in the process of registering a charity.
Nick Dent, director, Original Collection says: “We’re incredibly grateful to Jack Vettriano for his generous support. It’s a beautiful image, reminiscent of carefree days and sunshine which is exactly what we’re hoping to offer as many NHS workers and carers as possible.”
For every £100 donated by a UK taxpayer, a voucher for £150 will be issued to a carer. Hoteliers agree to top-up vouchers by 25 per cent and gift aid adds the same again, so, the nation’s heroes will receive 50% more than if the gift were given directly - £150 for every £100 donated.
While I have your attention, I also have an important request to make of you.
