Kevin revealed what audiences can expect from the show: “Burn The Floor as a dance company has been going for 20 years now,” he said. “It actually originated from an Elton John birthday party. He was having a lavish birthday party and he fancied having some ballroom dancers come and do a show and this was before the days of Strictly.

“So a group of competition dancers put together some choreography for the event and it went down so well they decided to do more with it. They went on to form a dance company called Burn The Floor and it just got bigger and bigger. It went on tours around the world, on Broadway and the West End. I got involved with it in 2008 at a time when I was really disillusioned with dancing.

“I actually gave up competitive dancing and then Burn The Floor gave me a ring to come along and see what they were up to. It just changed me forever.

“Over the last 20 years it has been constantly pushing the boundaries of ballroom dancing, it is an ever-evolving show.”

Kevin toured with Burn The Floor last year for the first time in a few years and Joanne came to see it.

“My sister hadn’t danced in a couple of years, but she said it was the first time she had watched some dancing and felt like she wanted to be involved again. So we got round the table and here we are going on tour together with Burn The Floor!”

Kevin said: “It is going to be a great experience. We used to dance together as kids and we crossed paths on Strictly but we have never really been on tour together. It will be quite special.”

The theme for this year’s tour is ‘Anything You Can Do’ and Kevin said it basically involves him and Joanne trying to out dance and out sing each other for two hours on stage!

“The show is based on the main ten ballroom and Latin American dances but Burn The Floor as a company is always evolving and the choreography is always influenced by other styles as well. We are looking forward to bringing the tour to Scotland - I do love the Scottish audiences. They always create a great atmosphere and you always feel everyone is just out to have a good time - it is great to feed off that energy.” Tickets are from www.alhambradunfermline.com
