Abbey Walk works

The closure will run from the junction with Greenside Place to beyond the junction with Woodburn Place on St Marys Street. As well as resurfacing the badly damaged surface, work will also include the installation of a new crossing close to new housing developments in the area.

Traffic will be diverted via Lamond Drive, the Pends will temporarily accommodate two-way traffic with strict no-parking rules in place, and access will be available for local residents.

Councillor Brian Thomson said he was pleased to see the work starting.

“There will obviously be a bit of inconvenience for residents, businesses and commuters, but a marked diversion route will be in place,” he said. “Overall, it’s good to see funds being spent in St Andrews.”
