Co-op relaunching new-look stores in two Fife towns

Co-op is to reopen two new-look stores in Fife this week following a combined investment by the retailer of £1.16 million.

The stores on Dunfermline’s Linburn Road (£587,000) and Kennoway’s Bishop’s Court (£578,000) will relaunch to serve their communities between 6am-10pm and support 25 and 18 jobs respectively.

Linburn Road reopens with Amazon Lockers, customer car parking, Steven’s bakery, RollOver hot food, Costa Coffee Express and a bakery alongside whilst Kennoway Co-op has customer car parking, Steven’s Bakery and Seattle Coffee.

Both have an increased focus on fresh, heathy produce, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, free-from and vegan products, Fairtrade, food-to-go and everyday essentials.

The new-look Co-ops will also provide a funding boost locally and save shoppers money through the Co-op’s re-launched membership scheme. In addition to personalised offers and exclusive in-store deals, Members are rewarded with 2p in every pound they spend on Co-op branded products added to their Membership account balance. The retailer also shares a further two per cent with community causes - double what it had shared before.

As well as unlocking value in food stores, Members are eligible for discounts across the Co-op, with savings also made on funerals, insurance policies and legal products and services.

Michael McCarthy, Co-op’s regional manager, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in Fife – both sites have been transformed and we are looking forward to welcoming communities in Dunfermline and Kennoway back to their new-look stores.

“Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally, and our aim is to operate at the heart of local life. That is why we also want customers to know that they can become a Member of their Co-op, and they can make a difference every time they swipe their Membership card when buying own branded products.”
