The doors to the Terminus Post Office on Hilton Road, Rosyth will shut temporarily from Friday November 6.

This follows the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.

It is the second loss in the town.

Annabelle Ewing MSP for the Cowdenbeath constituency said: “It is always unsettling when the temporary closure of a Post Office is announced, but I am particularly concerned that it is only a month since I received notification of the temporary closure of the North Rosyth Post Office.

“To lose one postmaster may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness

She added: ““Both these Post Offices were operated by McColls who claim to be the largest operator, so I am concerned as to whether this represents a general retreat from the provision of Post Office services.

“I will be writing to both seeking clarification."
