Consultation launched over Post Office services in Fife

The Post Office is proposing introducing a mobile service which would cover several Fife communities.

The Kennoway Mobile Service would bring Post Office facilities to communities including Lundin Links, Upper Largo, Elie and Crail.

The service would visit Lundin Links on Monday, 9am-11am, and Wednesday, 11.30am-1.30pm; Upper Largo on Monday, 11.15am-12.15pm; Elie on Monday, 12.45-1.45pm; and Crail on Monday, 2-4pm, Tuesday, 2.30-4.30pm, and Wednesday, 2-4pm. The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their views on this proposal in a six-week public consultation.

Kenny Lamont, network operations area manager, said: “We are confident that these new services will meet customer needs.

“Our priority is to restore Post Office services to these local communities and we believe the establishment of mobile services presents the best possible solution to provide Post Office services to these communities.”

North East Fife MP Stephen Gethins is urging locals to make their thoughts known.

He explained: “Many villages, particularly those in the East Neuk, have lost Post Office services and while permanent Post Offices in fixed locations is far preferable, I would encourage residents to contribute to this consultation.”
