Bank closure: TSB shuts branch in Kirkcaldy

The Templehall branch is being shut as part of a cull of branches following a review.
Its closure was first announced last year, sparking a backlash in the community, with Neale Hanvey, MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath urging a re-think.

TSB has written to branch customers to advise them of the closure - and the alternatives open to them.
It previously said that 96% of customers would be within a 20-minute drive of another branch.
And as the branch closed for good, the National Federation of Sub Postmasters highlighted three local Post Offices which could be used.

The federation said each of the branches offers banking services - including deposits, free cash withdrawals and balance checks, as well as face-to-face access to government services, bill payment, foreign currency, travel insurance and, of course, postal services.
A spokesman said: “Post offices are proving vital to retaining people’s and business’s access to cash as the banks continue to desert the high street in order to cut costs and increase their profits.
Every post office plays a vital role within the heart of the local community.
