Fife-based Muir Homes appoints new managing director

Fife-based, family-run housebuilder Muir Homes has appointed Paul McKay as its new managing director.

He takes the helm of a business with a turnover of £43.5million, and an increase in average house prices from £206,291 in 2019 to £216,746.

Muir Homes is currently on site in six locations across North Lanarkshire, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire and Inverclyde.

Mr McKay, who started his career in 1989 as a trainee quantity surveyor, has over 33 years’ experience in the construction industry and 31 of those with Walker Group (Scotland) Ltd.

He transferred to Springfield’s senior management team when they bought Walker Group, becoming divisional operations director.

He said: “I am looking forward to working as part of a family-run company again.

“It is the right time for me to take on a new challenge. I am looking forward to working with a new team at Muir Homes to produce excellent work and sustain and build profits for the business.”
