Kirkcaldy-based Gordon Povey, CEO and founder of Trisent, said: “This collaboration is important to us commercially because customers need to trust companies that process their personal data.

“With this project, data resilience and security will be raised to levels that are currently unattainable by other companies.

“We will also be providing high levels of transparency in how data is being gathered and used. Building high levels of trust with our customers clearly gives Trisent a major commercial advantage. “

Trisent was launched in response to demand from the current four billion people that use the internet and 2.8 billion that have smartphones. These customers generate large volumes of personal data and need tools to consolidate and store this data. The commercial software start-up is putting security first by enlisting Scotland’s top cyber security expert Prof Bill Buchanan.
