Fife food business launches afternoon tea service

A new service from one of Fife’s prestigious event caterers has launched.

Before the Coronavirus outbreak, Harper & Lime provided bespoke contemporary catering for private dining occasions, parties and events.

With all events on hold, Harper & Lime founder and chef, Catherine Devaney has launched an afternoon tea delivery service.

Harper & Lime’s afternoon delivers gorgeous boxes, full of completely handmade treats – a full classic afternoon tea, complete with Edinburgh Tea – throughout Fife every Saturday.

Delicacies include classic finger sandwiches, savoury tarts and pastries and of course, freshly baked scones with jam and fresh cream.

Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the treats like lemon drizzle cake with white chocolate and raspberry, coffee cream choux pastries, strawberry tarts and chocolate brownies.

Catherine said: “The essence of what we do is in those boxes: amazing quality, attention to detail, delicious food and local produce.

“I’ve continued to work with local food heroes: from Blacketyside strawberries to Henderson’s meat and Lowrie’s smoked salmon.

“The afternoon teas make a lovely treat to send as a gift or are simply a fabulous way to spend a Saturday afternoon – whilst social distancing of course – when people’s options to go out and eat are limited. “

Catherine continued: “I’ve made sure that the teas are beautifully boxed so that they even make the ideal picnic option.”

Catherine has also teamed up with St Andrews Wine Company to enable customers to add a bottle of fizz at the same time, creating a real treat at a moment when many need it most.

The afternoon tea boxes can be ordered through the Harper & Lime Facebook page.
