The Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind project will be built off the coast of Fife not far from the Methil and Burntisland yards which are among those snubbed.

“The community needs answers, that’s why I’m meeting with the Scottish Government on Tuesday to get them and to firm up plans for our next steps.”

Mr Hanvey added: “Whilst my words may sound hollow at the moment, I can assure my constituents that I will continue to work across industry, education, and both the UK and Scottish governments to deliver the economic and employment opportunities they should reasonably expect in such an energy-rich country.”
