Fife Council are to invest £68,000 improving the road network in Glenrothes with the resurfacing of Woodside Road, in the town from Monday, March 6 2017, with work scheduled to last for up to two weeks.

To ensure the safety of road users a road closure with diversion routes is to be put in place. The closure will run from Monday to Friday and be removed at the weekend.

Bus services on Woodside Road will be temporarily suspended and notices will be placed at existing bus stops directing passengers to alternative stops.

Councillor John Wincott, Fife Council’s executive spokesperson for environment and transportation said the work is part of a near £8 million programme of road improvements planned across the region in 2017.

“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work,” he added.

“Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
