The plans will see the Kingarroch Inn in Craigrothie turned into a house.

In a supporting the statement, it was explained that, over the last decade, footfall at the pub had fallen, leading the owner to put it on the market.

However, despite being on the market for over a year, there were just three viewings, with no one wanting to take on the pub.

The statement added: “General sociological changes continue to affect rural inns and locally this is evidenced in the demise of several, previously very successful, similar enterprises, which have ceased trading in recent years, with Meldrum’s Inn in Ceres, The Pitscottie Inn, and The Dairsie Inn being some of the most notable in pre-Covid times.”

It was for this reason that the owner decided to turn the pub into a house.
