Holiday let plan for flats in exclusive building overlooking Old Course, St Andrews

The owners of Hamilton Grand in St Andrews - which has stunning views across the Old Course - want to turn two empty apartments into three holiday lets.The plans by Kohler Co have been lodged with Fife Council.The company bought the landmark building in 2009.Its plans relate to apartments 24 and 25, both large four-bedroom apartments which have never occupied since a major refurbishment of the building.

Hide AdThe proposal is to sub-divide them to create three two-bedroom apartments - with living/dining/kitchen space, en-suite bathrooms and cloakrooms.Hamilton Hall’s history dates back to 1895.It was originally The Grand Hotel, and boasted many innovative features of the time.It has been home to RAF officers, and was later part of the University of St Andrews’ stock of student residences.Councillors will make a decision in due course.
