In Pictures: inside historic Fife manse house on market for over £595,000

An impressive five-bedroom Manse house set in the Fife countryside is on the market, and seeking offers over £595,000.

Grayson House, was built in 1849, and has been extended and upgraded by the current owners while retaining the charm and elegance of the period.

The property has a fascinating history, as the Manse House to the former Rathillet Burgher Church, originally built in 1762 and replaced with a new Church in 1859. It became a United Free Church in 1900, before joining the Church of Scotland in 1934. The church was demolished in the 1960s.

Dom Wedderburn of Galbraith, who is handling the sale, said: “This is an impressive and beautifully presented property, offering period elegance with contemporary comforts and ideal for modern family life. The garden is an idyllic spot to relax in the summer months, with a lovely rear terrace, small orchard and kitchen garden.

“The location is a particular benefit, with beautiful countryside surrounding the hamlet of Rathillet yet easily accessible to Cupar, St Andrews, Perth and Dundee, making it ideal for commuters.”

The traditional layout of the house has been retained, with recent additions including the rear entrance porch and conservatory.

The ground floor accommodation includes: vestibule, hall, sitting room, family room, conservatory, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, and bathroom. On the first floor are four bedrooms, shower room, and a fifth bedroom currently used as a study. There is the potential to convert the attic to create additional accommodation.

A gateway leads through to a lower garden with a small orchard and kitchen garden. There are various outbuildings in the grounds
