Kirkcaldy toy store announces even more discounts ahead of closure

The Kirkcaldy branch of Toys R Us has announced more discount deals for shoppers as it prepares to close its doors.

It was announced in December that the Fife Central Retail Park store would be one of 26 to shut as part of a ‘UK-wide reorganisation’.

And shop bosses have revealed today that markdowns are even bigger with an additional 20 per cent off the already 60 per cent off reductions until Sunday (March 4).

A spokesman for Toys ‘R’ Us said: “We are literally weeks away from saying ‘goodbye’ to the Fife Central Retail Park store.

They added: “There’s never been a better time to grab a bargain on toys in Kirkcaldy and although it’s a sad time for the toy store, we’re expecting our customers to take full advantage of the slashed prices”.

Although no official closing date has been set, it will only be a matter of weeks before closure is imminent.

Floor space within the store is now reducing week by week with just under half of the store now in use.

The announcement today (Tuesday) comes as it was revealed that retailer itself could plunge into administration today after last ditch talks to find a buyer broke down.
