Launch of new fire service centre covering Fife
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has officially unveiled its new East Service Delivery Headquarters and Asset Resource Centre at Newbridge outside Edinburgh.
It will cover the Kingdom and the east of Scotland.
It will be home to 130 staff from across a range of teams including response and protection, maintenance and IT.

Hide AdThe development, part of a £1.9m investment, replaces three centres deemed to have reached the end of their operational life – Thornton, Maddiston in Falkirk and Lauriston Place in Edinburgh.
It will be headed up by John Miller, Deputy Assistant Chief Officer who has responsibility for the service across the east, serving a population of 1.6 million people with fire crews at 65 stations.
Pat Watters, chairman of the board, said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the formal opening of our new headquarters.
“There can be no clearer demonstration of our commitment to keeping our communities safe across the east - by bringing together our very best expertise and experience under one roof.
