The land in Smeaton was used for car rentals.

Applicant Mohammed Azfal wants to build nine houses, and two blocks of flats containing 16 and nine homes respectively.

They would sit on the land occupied by Good News rentals.

A supporting statement lodged with the application noted: “The land is run down and an eyesore. The potential to breathe new life into the area is there.”
